Surfing, boating, fishing, and swimmingFrom the moment Alex’s grandfather Don purchased the business in 1977, it has been a family affair. The Stone family, Don, Alex’s parents Sandy and Peggy, his aunt Missy and her husband David, and eventually Alex and his brother Eric, developed a mom-and-pop operation into a thriving business.
Along with his family, and demonstrating his dedication to the vacation rental business, Alex has established multiple business units that coexist with Island Realty, including a long-term rental division, Homeowner’s Association and Regime Management, a full-service cleaning and maintenance division, and a property monitoring service.
Today, Alex serves as CEO of the company, his brother, Eric, is the Long-Term Department Manager, and his dad, Sandy, now semi-retired, regularly visits the office to offer guidance and strum the guitar. Island Realty is a true family business, and the oldest family-owned and operated property management company on Isle of Palms.
Alex encourages his team to never take their amazing location for granted and to literally dip their toes in the sand and water on a regular basis. He feels incredibly lucky to live and work on the beautiful Isle of Palms.
