Mountain biking, hiking, skiing, river tubing, day trips to Woodstock and Burlington, and scenic drives along Route 100Originally from New York, Fred Cercena grew up vacationing and skiing in Vermont. When his in-laws bought a property there, he was excited to spend more time in the area he loved so much. In 2008, Fred and his wife also bought a vacation home in the Killington area and began renting it out. Using his extensive background in marketing, Fred immediately built a website, posted high-quality photos, and made his venture a success.
When Fred saw a need for more hands-on marketing for other properties in the area, he initiated a direct mail campaign to owners. What began as one home steadily grew to more than 75 across Vermont and Maine, as more and more owners saw a difference in the level of service they were receiving from Fred and his team. With every new home they welcome into their portfolio, GetAway Vacations prides themselves on offering the same deeply personalized care to both owners and guests.
The excellent relationships and high level of trust the team has with their owners is based on the quality of service they offer across the board – from making sure their property is protected and yielding the right price to ensuring it’s presented in the marketplace with high-definition photography and stellar marketing. When it comes to guests, they offer desirable amenities, extensive guest services, and personalized touches like handwritten cards, tote bags, or local coffee grinds to show how much they care.
Today, Fred is involved in nearly every aspect of the company, including daily operations, owner relations, and technology. When he’s not working, you’ll find Fred mountain biking, skiing, hiking with his dog, and spending time with his wife and children in beautiful Vermont.
Nestled within the Green Mountains of central Vermont, Killington is most well known for its enormous ski resort, fondly nicknamed the “Beast of the East.” But beyond the diverse terrain of the ski slopes and the myriad of winter activities, Killington offers guests tons of restaurants, exciting nightlife, world-class mountain biking and hiking trails, fun river tubing adventures, and, of course, Vermont’s coveted maple syrup.
These are just some of the reasons Fred Cercena, Founder of GetAway Vacations, loves Killington.
