It was there that Rachele met her husband, Jimmy Hobbs, and married into the family business. After promising his wife a beach house, Jimmy’s father recruited his children to finally build one in 1977. But when the home was just halfway to completion, someone offered to buy it. When the same thing happened a second time – and a third – Hobbs Realty was born.
Time and time again, owners approached the Hobbs family asking them to take care of their properties, and just as they built and sold houses one by one, they also began managing vacation rentals one by one. What began as building and selling a single home more than 45 years ago developed into a premier property management company managing around 200 homes with extensive local knowledge and passion for Holden Beach.
A true family business, Hobbs Realty now spans three generations, with Rachele at the helm as CEO. Committed to time-honored traditions and going the extra “smile,” Rachele’s team – which includes all of her children and almost every son- and daughter-in-law – has helped generations of families own property in Holden Beach and have incredible vacation experiences.
