Rent in Highlands

Highlands Vacation Rentals
In Alicen’s collection, Rent in Highlands brings together mountain homes that range from tucked-away riverfront cabins to lakefront lodges with serious square footage. What ties them together isn't narrowed down to a single style. Each one was chosen for how it sits in the landscape and what it offers beyond four walls. You'll find homes built into dense forests, others right on quiet lakes, and some overlooking waterfalls. The interiors lean into what works in the mountains: warm wood, stone fireplaces, deep seating, and finishes that feel solid rather than showy.
Most come with generous outdoor space. Wrap-around porches with rockers. Screened verandas where you can hear the river moving below. Patios that put you a few feet from the water, with paddleboards and canoes ready if you want them.
Highlands itself sits at 4,000 feet, one of the highest elevations east of the Rockies. The town runs about a mile end to end, with almost everything you'd want in a small mountain town, having restaurants, wine bars, and boutiques all within walking distance. It's seasonal, quiet by design, and draws people back. Half the guests who stay at Rent in Highlands have stayed with them before.
Arrivals are handled with intention: lights left on, heat dialed up before you get there, a bottle of Biltmore wine on the counter, a handwritten card. Small gestures, but they set the tone. The goal is for it to feel less like checking into a rental and more like walking into a place that was expecting you! People come to eat well, hike, shop a little, and unplug.
