Hiking, cycling, and driving along mountain roadsIn Union County, Georgia, where many cabins are far from one another and from town, it can be hard for both guests and owners of vacation rental properties to find high-quality service. Enter Joni Lee. After twenty years of church leadership and homeschooling her four children, Joni found herself searching for a new direction. When her sister suggested she rent a few rooms in her house on Airbnb, a business was born.
From the beginning, when Joni hosted guests in her own home, to now hosting guests in sixty properties across North Georgia with SVR Properties, Joni and her team have always gone beyond helping guests find a cabin – they offer personal service and truly care about their guests’ stays. Business grew organically, as more and more homeowners who had experienced subpar service in the mountains finally found Joni.
With her small local team, Joni makes it her mission to care for her guests and owners. At SVR Properties, they say, “We’ll make the mountain getaway, and you’ll make the memories.” Creekside picnics, carefully planned celebrations, and full-fledged itineraries are all par for the course with Joni’s team. And their fully stocked kitchens are everything when you’re 45 minutes away from the grocery store.
Ingrained in the community, you’ll find their office in an 80-year-old barn and their reservationists in Suches Life, a store featuring local artists' work. When she’s not managing properties and welcoming guests, you’ll find Joni disconnecting in nature, hiking, cycling, and driving the mountain road in her 20 year old Miata.
A haven for outdoor enthusiasts, Union County, Georgia is full of adventure. While disconnecting in a quaint town like Suches or Blairsville, you can hike the Appalachian Trail, canoe down the Toccoa River, go fly-fishing for world-class trout, and explore hundreds of square miles of mountains, forests, and wildlife sanctuaries. When you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll have your pick of vineyards, restaurants, distilleries, and roadside BBQ joints.
